Step 1 - Eligibility Check
Confirm that you meet the legal requirements, such as Son, Grandson or Great-grandson of Spanish people, and that you are covered by the Democratic Memory Law.
2nd Step - Document Preparation
Gather birth certificates, marriage certificates and other documents that prove your connection to your Spanish ancestors.
Step 3 - Submitting the Request
- Email the Consulate requesting an appointment date;
- Wait for a reply from the consulate email with your login and password;
- Use the password to schedule an appointment at the Consulate;
- Fill out the forms according to your degree of kinship
4th Step - Interview and Submission of Documents at the Consulate
Attend the scheduled location and time to submit the forms and documents.
